As for our Old Smoky-models, now also the traction engines D405, D406 and D409 are also available as remote controlled models. With the hand-held transmitter the functions left/right and forward/backwards can be controlled. For already existing traction engines the add-on kit Z360 and Z363 can be used (Z363 not suitable for kit models!).
At the beginning of the twentieth century, this so-called Showman's Engine could be found at every fun fair. It was used to drive the showmen's round abouts and to provide illumination for the fairground. The oldtimers were decorated with bright colours and fitted with a dynamo so that they could generate their own electricity. A fully working live steam engine from the range of WILESCO hobby technic. This technically perfect model has been painted in matching colours. A chemically black painted brass boiler, diameter 45 mms, length 150 mms, boiler volume 250 ccms with water gauge glass. Powerful, double acting reversible cylinder with flywheel of d=80 mms. The showman's engine can be run in forward or reverse depending on the movement of the flywheel. Spring loaded safety valve, steam regulator, steam whistle, steam jet oiler and foot bridge, traditional chain steering. A clutch engaged gear wheel permits the use of the engine and the operation of the dynamo either stationary or driving. The dynamo illuminates the eight diodes mounted around the canopy of the engine giving bright lights. The condensed water of this engine is collected below the smoke stack. Operating time about 15 minutes per fuel charge. All single parts are manufactured from finely varnished metal.
