The Tora 45000 type freight car is a Japanese National Railways two-axle open freight car that appeared in 1960 (Showa 35). 8184 cars were manufactured and some are still in use today. Vehicles whose floorboards were made of wood and whose gables were modified from pressed steel plates to flat steel plates were numbered 145,000 by adding a 1 to the beginning of the original car number.
