The 205 series is a commuter train that appeared in 1985. It appeared as a replacement for the 103 series, which was widely used in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and was introduced on the Yamanote Line as the first model. Unlike the conventional 103 series and 201 series, the car body is made of stainless steel and has the line color of the route introduced. The 205 series introduced on the Yamanote Line was transferred to other lines when that line was replaced by the E231 series. Two of the similar trains that were transferred to the Keiyo Line were early mass-produced cars, and the band color was changed to wine red and the train set was changed to 10 cars, and they remained active until 2011.
