Product Information
Designed to be a versatile military aircraft, the North American Rockwell OV-10 saw action as an observational and light attack platform in the Vietnam War's final years and during Operation Desert Storm. The Bronco excelled in air support, utility missions and anti-guerilla operations with many still in service today most notably with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) to help prevent and fight bushfires.
The more practical giant-scale Bronco
When the 30cc version of the Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco was announced, it was very well received by the market as the largest giant-scale warbird by Hangar 9. The only drawback was storing and transporting the 274cm wing parts. Clocking in with a bit more manageable 213cm wingspan, the Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 20cc ARF is scaled down but still gives you the giant-scale flying experience, and is more practical for everyday use. It is now possible to transport the three-piece wing by removing just the outer panels, allowing you to transport the centre section that includes the fuselage, stabilizer and booms with the landing gear either retracted or extended. If you have the time and the inclination you can remove a few more screws to store and transport each section separately. The size reduction also makes this OV-10 Bronco suitable with more popular and affordable 20cc engines or 6S LiPo electric power systems. For easy assembly and setup, all the hardware required for mounting the recommended 20cc petrol engine and 6S LiPo power systems have been included.
Featuring the same built-up balsa and plywood construction as its big brother, the Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 20cc ARF boasts long-lasting and lightweight strength for added durability. Matching painted parts and the factory-applied UltraCote film covering replicate the striking CAL FIRE livery found on their fleet of OV-10 aircraft. You can personalise your OV-10 Bronco with the included decal set by applying your chosen N-Number, city name and nose. The number of scale details on the Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 20cc ARF is impressive with antennas, a pitot tube and a nose light along with cockpit details such as instrument panel, pilot figure and seats, plus more. If you want to go to town with the scale details there are some optional use parts included with the kit that include guns, gear doors and sponsons. You also have the option of adding simulated drop tanks that will need to be purchased separately.
The shock-absorbing electric retractable landing gear with trailing link struts tops off the scale detail on your Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 20cc ARF nicely. If you're a more experienced pilot looking for a versatile and unique scale warbird then you need to take a close look at getting this in the air!
