Designed from the ground up to be a great looking and handling modern-day “sport” airplane, the E-flite Sportix 1.1m is a perfect “next step after a trainer” model for low-time pilots and no hassles everyday aerobat for more experienced pilots. It's capable of smooth and predictable sport flying, along with performing basic to aggressive and even “pattern-like” precision aerobatics. The convenient size makes it easy to store, transport, and fly at a variety of large parks and sports fields to RC flying fields – yet it's still large enough to be easy to see and to fly well in the wind – especially the BNF Basic version that's equipped with enhanced AS3X+ technology that smooths out the effects of wind and turbulence better than ever before. That version is also equipped with optional-use SAFE Select technology that makes it even easier to fly, and both versions include Spektrum digital, metal-geared servos, a 45A Smart Lite ESC, plus a 3S and 4S compatible motor!
Whether you're a low-time pilot looking for a “next step” model after mastering your trainer and you're interested in learning to perform more advanced aerobatics, or you're an experienced pilot looking for an all-around fun-to-fly sport model, the E-flite Sportix 1.1m is a perfect choice. It's designed to be capable of basic, precision, and aggressive aerobatics, while also being smooth, stable, and predictable in every phase of flight. It was also designed to include a variety of modern-day features and conveniences from LED navigation lights to a two-piece horizontal stabilizer and wings with hands-free servo connections that can be installed and removed without the use of tools or fasteners. Yet it's also conveniently sized to be easy to store and transport without disassembly – and so it can be flown at large parks and sports fields as well as RC flying fields. Factory-installed digital and metal-geared servos with ball-link equipped linkages provide precise and reliable control at every speed. The power system includes a Spektrum outrunner motor and an Avian 45-amp Smart Lite ESC that are compatible with popular 3S and 4S 2200-3200mAh batteries. And the BNF Basic version is equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver featuring exclusive and enhanced AS3X+ along with optional-use SAFE Select technologies.
Skill Level 2 – Next Step After a Trainer aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who have successfully learned to fly a trainer model and those with the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this is a very smooth and stable model, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly a trainer model like the HobbyZone AeroScout 1.1m and Carbon Cub 1.3m, or models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m and other similar class models before attempting to fly the Sportix 1.1m BNF Basic version.
The Sportix 1.1m is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR631+) and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly. Plus, optional-use motor/thrust reversing can help shorten rollout after landing and offers other special ground handling capabilities (5–6+ channel transmitter required for reversing).
The factory-installed brushless power system features a 45-amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC plus a specially-tuned motor that delivers an abundance of thrust with a 3S 2200mAh LiPo battery, or more speed and unlimited vertical performance with up to a 4S 3200mAh battery without the need for any modifications or upgrades.
No glue is required for final assembly, and you can have the Sportix 1.1m ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! And although it's conveniently sized to fit fully assembled in just about any vehicle, you can also remove the two-piece wing for even easier storage and transport. Built-in wing locks and hands-free connections mean you can remove/install the wing in almost no time without the use of any tools or fasteners.
The lightweight yet durable EPO airframe is composite reinforced for added strength. And the factory-installed digital and metal-geared servos with ball-link equipped linkages deliver crisp and precise control at every speed.
