Product Information
Known for its straight-line design and often referred to as the "square body," the Chevy K10 was one of the early “Chevy K” generations to benefit from computer optimisation and wind tunnel testing. This resulted in reduced drag and improved fuel economy, enhancing both the appearance and functionality of the iconic truck. Now, you can experience driving this legendary vehicle for yourself with the Axial SCX10 III Base Camp 1982 Chevy K10.
Drive the classic 1982 Chevy K10
Packaged in a convenient ready-to-run format, the Axial SCX10 III Base Camp Chevy K10 is easy to get started and can conquer various terrains, just like its full-size counterpart. Designed to embrace the spirit of Americana-inspired off-road adventures, rather than precarious sidehills and technical climbs, the Base Camp K10 is an ideal choice for anyone. It serves as an excellent introductory crawler and a valuable addition to the collection of any Axial fan.
Authenticity meets durability with the SCX10 III Base Camp Chevy K10
The Axial SCX10 III Base Camp features the officially licensed Pro-Line 1982 Chevy K10 stepside body, meticulously factory-painted and detailed to replicate the iconic “square body” design. Axial’s commitment to authenticity extends beyond appearance, as this RC truck boasts exceptional durability and performance. It’s built on the durable SCX10 III steel C-channel chassis that not only reduces frame flexing but also improves the precision of suspension movement. Equipped with AR45 portal axles, the SCX10 III Base Camp Chevy K10 Crawler offers increased ground clearance at the differential making off-road manoeuvrability easier.
Designed for simplicity and durability, the LCXU 4-wheel drive transmission works seamlessly with standard and portal axles. It incorporates a full set of ball bearings and all-metal internal gears ensuring robustness and longevity. The Base Camp K10’s front suspension geometry is optimised to decrease bump steer, ensuring a smooth and controlled drive, while the rear 4-link suspension set-up effectively reduces torque twist, improving stability on rugged terrains. The oil-filled shocks come with aluminium threaded bodies and a single coil-over spring, allowing for fine-tuning and achieving the best dampening rate for optimal performance.
Mastering off-road terrain
The Axial SCX10 III Base Camp Chevy K10 RC Crawler comes equipped with new 4.19” Falken Wildpeak M/T R35 compound tyres that are designed for superior grip and ground clearance on various off-road surfaces. Complementing the tyres are the one-piece Raceline 928 Monster Wheels that enhance both style and performance.
Reliable electronics from Spektrum and Dynamite
To enhance the Ready-To-Run experience, the Base Camp K10 comes with a factory-installed power system ensuring a hassle-free setup. It features a Dynamite 35T brushed motor and a Spektrum 40A brushed ESC. With this reliable combo, you’ll spend more time enjoying the trails and less time on maintenance.
